Treating acne starts with your diet and lifestyle.  What you put into your body directly affects how it looks on the outside.  This means that when you eat crap your skin looks like crap!  The perfect acne diet is one that is based around fruits, veggies, and nuts.  The healthier you eat, the healthier you feel and look.  Your good diet has to be backed up with lots of water to keep your pores hydrated and toxins flushed out of your body.  On top of your food and drink, get plenty of exercise to keep your body in good form.

Choosing An Acne Treatment

With so many different acne treatments and remedies, how do you pick the right one?  You must first determine what your skin type is and then try out some different treatments and remedies.

You probably already have a good idea of what your skin type is.  It’s oily, dry, or balanced.  There are acne treatments that are designed for each one of these for a reason.  Different skin types react differently with each treatment and medication.  The concentration of the active ingredients in acne treatments is different for each skin type.  Oily skin can handle much higher amounts of ingredients like salicylic acid than dry skin can.  If you choose an acne treatment that is too concentrated for your skin type your face will dry out and cause your acne to become worse.

After you’ve determined what your skin type is, go out and buy a treatment that is designed for you.  The determining factor in whether or not you are treating acne well is how dry the treatment makes your skin while still getting rid of acne.  If your acne starts to go away and your skin does not become overly dry, you’ve found a winner.

Patience is a big deal when finding the right product to treat acne.  You’re going to have to use a product for at least two weeks before you can decide if it’s the right one for you.  If you don’t give it enough time you may pass on something that will clear your skin.

There are many answers to the question of how to treat acne.  Only you can properly answer it through patience and experimentation.  It will happen, but you have to make it so!
